Kompleks Sukan Air Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA 21 Dis.

Wayang Pacak

Wayang Pacak or open air cinema, which was popular in the 60's and 70's, had been the source of entertainment, education and information among the rural folks in villages and interior areas.

During the era, Kementerian Penerangan or a chinese company would bring the film. The film was projected on the white linen cloth that was stretch across the field resembling the cinema screen. A cinema film projector was used and sometimes due to non ventilation, the film got burn by the hot lights of the projector.

The will be 2 cans of films and during the break, normally there will be a few minutes of explanation by the Kementerian spokesman or the chinese promoting their products.

As I remembered some films that I manage to see is Kung Fu film, Cowboys western, Indonesian horror fim and as well as P.Ramlee movies.

Today, they simply played on a DVD palyer and projected using a slide projector.

Kuda Kepang

Kuda Kepang

The Kuda Kepang is a very interesting dance from Johor.

The dance was once a form of totemic worship.

The dance had strong links with spirit possession and often dancers went into a trance-like state.

However with the Islamisation of Malaysia, this dance now generally renders the tale of nine Javanese men who spread the Islamic faith in the interior of Java.

The nine Muslim evangelists rode on horseback and dramatized stories of the battles waged and won for the cause of Islam to draw and hold the attention of the congregation.

Kuda Kepang is performed by nine dancers who are seated astride a two dimensional 'horse' made of hide or pleated rattan.

The dancers re-enact the early Islamic battles in enthusiastic gestures and vigorous action. Naturally as time as moved this dance is seen very much more for its entertainment value.

This dance is performed in accompaniment to a rich and exotic rendition of traditional music played with indigenous instruments such as gongs, tambourines and angklungs.

Balloon Fiesta 2009 --> 19-22 Mac

Mark your calender shutterbugs

* Malaysian Sport Aviation Federation (MSAF) and AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd will be co-organising the 1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009 on the 19th until 22nd of March.

* MSAF was formed in May 2003 and AKA Balloon’s (registered MSAF member) managing director, Khairudin Abdul Rani, is the Vice President for Lighter Than Air.

* AKA Balloon had previously been the co-organiser during The News Straits Times 150th anniversary celebration where they organised an ’NST International Hot Balloon Fest 1995’. A total of 20 hot air balloon pilots from around the globe participated in the event.

* As the Federation in Malaysia, MSAF is more than credible to organise an event of such great stature.

Objectives

* To turn Malaysia into one of the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta destinations – for the avid balloonists around the world.

* To turn the event into an annual prestigious event to promote Malaysia and attract more tourists hence making Malaysia well renowned in the world.

* The Fiesta would also, inevitably increase the local economy, and Malaysia would be at par with other well renowned balloon destinations such as Albuquerque in the USA, Bristol in England and Saga in Japan. i.e.; Saga, a small farming village in Japan, had attracted over a million tourists to witness their yearly hot air balloon fiesta.

Salary

Wonder what can we do with this much salary?

Well..imagine our local company is wasting a lot of money paying this contract expart..with this much salary and benefit we could save much of the cost of the company in today recession period. If the company is doing a pay-cut, I surely hope this person should have his salary cut first or just terminate his contract!

This local company have a few hundreds of this expart rather than locals. Imagine with this person salary, we could hire a few locals to do this person job and we shouldn't have VSS the locals!
